Telecommunication Wing in OPTCL has been entrusted to establish, maintain and operate utility communication system as appropriate for efficient grid operation and centralized management of Power system. The utility communication system ultimately facilities power trading strategy for GRIDCO. The services rendered by Telecom wing ranges from commissioning of traditional Power Line Carrier Communication (PLCC) to real time SCADA operation, The SCADA system requires a communication back bone deploying Optical Ground Wires (OPGW) and microwave radio links . This wing undertakes various projects related to communication and control system applicable to Power System. |
